The teaching staff comprises of five mainstream class teachers, two SEN teachers, an EAL teacher and an autism class teacher. We have six Special Needs Assistants and a part-time secretary (8 hours/week).
Our staff work diligently and cooperatively to ensure that we meet each child's needs as best we can. Our teachers have always been very willing to take on new programmes and initiatives and are constantly striving for school improvement.
We engage willingly in CPD and all new learning is shared to enhance the teaching and learning experiences for the pupils in our school. Our staff have embraced major changes in the past number of years and are committed to growing and learning.
We are genuinely interested in the children in our care, both academically and pastorally. Our teachers give their time and talents willingly to ensure the holistic development of each child in line with our Mission Statement.
Our committed staff hold high expectations of pupils' work and behaviour. A recent questionnaire on Wellbeing circulated to our parents found that an overwhelming majority of parents believe that our school sets high expectations for the children in our care.
Furthermore, because our staff have been implementing DEIS curricular initiatives such as UFLI phonics, Heggerty Phonemic Awareness programme, Mata sa Rang, Language for Fun, Guided Reading, Ready Set Go Maths, etc for many years, we are highly skilled in the use of a myriad of methodologies besides the traditional "chalk and talk" method.
